Author note: In this piece I will be telling you what the theme is
in the book holes and what the characters experience throughout the book and
what the author is trying to say.
In the book Holes by Louis Sachar the author proves to readers
that bravery and courage go with the book because of many different events that
happened. Many people that read this book learn a lot about life
,and what it does to you if you make the wrong choices. The characters in the book
have to stay strong through the very hot days that they are at camp with not a
lot of water each day and not good food to eat. Each person there has to listen
to their instructor and do the right things.
There are many characters in the story and how they have bravery and courage and how they each stay
strong and don't give up digging there holes or helping other people. Each character in the book learns to listen and once
they are done spending their time there they can go, and will never want to
come back because how hard you have to work there. It is very hard on them
because they don't get to see their family for quite sometime.
The main character Stanley is not a tall , or strong kid he
is the opposite and it is hard for him to dig his holes. When he was coming
here he thought there was a lake to swim in there so he wouldn't be so hot ,and
it turns out that there is no such thing as a lake. He was not happy when he
found that out but at least he got to take showers but the showers went for a
short time. He teaches some other kids at the camp to stay strong and to not
give up and let nothing stop you and fight off the pain and most important keep moving forward never stay back.
There is another book that I have read and it has the same theme in the book holes it is called Travel Team and the main character has to stay strong and never give up and not listen to what some people say to him He also helps people and gives them good advise to help them in life and to keep them moving forward. So when times get hard try to stay strong and let nothing stop you and let the pain slide of you.
