My family and I love to ski and snowboard I like snowboarding better then skiing. My brothers and my dad and I wanted to go skiing so we went to Colorado and to a couple different resorts. We went to Vail and Breckenridge. When we were at Breckenridge I had a scary thing happen to me. So we get of the chair lift and there is a cat track is a long flat trial and it is hard for snowboarders to go on because you need speed so I was going along and there was kind of a small cliff and I was losing speed so little by little I was going down I got to far down and had to take my board of and my two brothers and my dad were far up ahead and were waiting for me. So when I took my board off I put it in one arm and tried to climb back up but my feet kept slipping and I lost grip of my feet and slid down and my snowboard left my arm and slid down and I thought for sure I was going to go over the edge and badly hurt myself and I just randomly just stopped without trying to stop myself and my board stopped to. So I took my board and tried to climb again this time I got out and so I put my board on and road the rest of they way and went down the mountain I saw just my brothers there and went down to them and told them what had happened and they told me that dad went down the mountain and that he was going to ride the chair back up and try to find me so we waited and waited until he found all of us and he told us that we have to stay closer to each other and to not get lost again.

Keep Going
Authors Note: This piece is going to be from a main characters point of view in a novel and what his life is like and how he changes it and how the story would be different from a different characters point of view.
In the novel Night Hoops by Carl Deuker the main character Nick has lots of great people helping him like his dad and mom. He is living a hard life in the book, his parents have split up and doesn't get to see his dad that much anymore. His dad wants him to keep playing the sport he loves the most and his mom wants him to focus more on school work then basketball. He isn't the only child in his family he also has an older brother who is always in his room playing an instrument and nick can never get him to play basketball with him.
In the book the point of view is coming from the main character in the novel we here what he feels an is thinking. From nicks point of view there is this one mean kid the same age and he is always mean to him and other people and he is afraid to even go near him. I will give you an example. So when nick was walking home from school they both didn't like each other so nick saw trent coming to him and trent pushed nick into a ditch and almost killed him by trying to drowned him. If the point of view was on the mean kid Trent lots of things would be different in the book. Trent would think that nick is kind of annoying and he would think he is the best at basketball. Trent is a bad kid and he gets in trouble lots of times by the police if we heard that from Trent's point of view it would be way different then nicks and how he thinks he is bad. Trent's reason why he pushed nick in the ditch is because when they were both playing football nick pushed trent really hard out of bounce and that was what started this whole thing.
If you read this book you will learn a lot about life and to keep going even when times are tough. I have never been in this situation before like nick and how there is this mean boy coming over to his house and playing ball on his court or hurting nick and almost killing him. hopefully you have never been in this situation like nick if you have I bet you had to fight through it and try to stay away from it. So when you get stuck try have people help you and try your best.
There are many sport books out there and with not always the main character as kind of like the narrator which everyone thinks it is going to be that way there are other sport books with different narrations in them. If you don't like sport book you should try and read this one and I think you will like it. So keep pushing even when times get hard.
